Some Sheffield United fans on Twitter have hit back at Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s comments following the match against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw with Brighton away from home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

During the post-match interview with BT Sports, Klopp took aim at United manager Chris Wilder for blocking the ‘five substitutes’ rule.

The Liverpool manager wants five substitutes for every Premier League game this season, but he said that Blades boss Wilder wants to keep it at three.

Klopp told BT Sports, as transcribed by BBC Sport: “Ask Chris Wilder how we can avoid that [injuries]. We had a talk between managers – a week ago now, I think – it was 15-5 if not 16-4 for five subs.

“Chris Wilder says constantly that I’m selfish. I think the things he’s said shows that he’s selfish. I was in a similar position at Mainz, all about staying in the league.

“Today, if we had five subs, I take off Andy Robertson and bring on Konstantinos Tsimikas. To save Robbo. Not to make our game better, just to save him. It’s not about changing tactics and systems, it’s just to save the players.”

Some United fans have hit back at Klopp for his comments, as shown below.

United were in action on Saturday evening, and they lost. Wilder’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of West Bromwich Albion away from home at The Hawthorns.

The Blades remain at the bottom of the Premier League table with just a point from 10 matches and are in serious danger of getting relegated to the Championship.

Defending champions Liverpool are at the top of the table at the moment with 21 points from 10 games, a point ahead of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played nine matches.
