Valon Berisha is reportedly close to joining Lazio, but do Newcastle United still have a chance of signing the RB Salzburg midfielder in the summer transfer window?
RB Salzburg midfielder Valon Berisha claimed of long-term interest from Newcastle United earlier this week, telling TV2 that the Magpies have been following him for a long time (click here to read more).
Berisha also stated his dream to play in England, but just days later, he seems to be on his way to Italy to play for Serie A outfit Lazio.

According to Gianlucadimarzio.com, Lazio have reached an agreement with RB Salzburg over the transfer of the Kosovo international midfielder for a fee of €8 million (£7.05m).
It has been reported that the Serie A club now have to discuss personal terms with the former Viking star.
Newcastle United still have a chance?
Newcastle, though, may still have a chance of securing the services of Berisha in the summer transfer window, with The Chronicle recently reporting that the Magpies have been tracking him for 18 months (click here to read more).
According to Gianlucadimarzio.com, Sampdoria had agreed terms with Salzburg and with the midfielder, but the 25-year-old had his doubts after he went to see their facilities and the move collapsed.
Could the same thing happen with Lazio? Maybe, and if that does happen, then Newcastle should be ready to pounce and make an offer to Berisha and Salzburg.
