TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has said that Kylian Mbappe will not join Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player has said on talkSPORT (6:17am, July 25, 2023) that he cannot see Kylian Mbappe leaving Paris Saint-Germain for Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

O’Hara believes that the 24-year-old France international forward is more likely to move to Manchester United, Manchester City or Real Madrid than to join Newcastle.

The future of Mbappe is up in the air.

Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal have offered PSG £259 million in transfer fees for the forward and have received permission from the Ligue 1 champions to speak to the 2018 World Cup winner with France, according to BBC Sport.

Marca reported over the weekend that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are keen on signing the forward, but he wants to join Real Madrid this summer.

Mbappe scored 29 goals and gave five assists in Ligue 1 and scored seven goals and provided three assists in the UEFA Champions League for PSG last season.

The 24-year-old scored 28 goals and provided 17 assists in Ligue 1 and scored six goals and gave four assists in the UEFA Champions League in 2021-22.

O’Hara said about Mbappe and Newcastle: “I just can’t see him at Newcastle. I can only see him at Manchester United or Manchester City or Real Madrid.”

Newcastle United could sign Kylian Mbappe… in the future

We do not think that Newcastle United are in a position now to sign Kylian Mbappe now.

But, you never know what could happen in the future.

After all, under owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), and manager Eddie Howe, Newcastle are going places.

The Magpies will play in the UEFA Champions League next season and will be aiming to make themselves regulars in Europe’s premier club competition in the coming years.

Perhaps in four or five years’ time, Newcastle will be in a position to attract a global superstar like Mbappe.
