Everton have today confirmed that Abdoulaye Doucoure and Fabian Delph are expected to be out for at least four weeks after sustaining injuries.

The Toffees announced on their official website that the midfield duo will miss at least one month of football, with Doucoure coming off against Aston Villa with a groin problem whilst Delph was injured in training.

The injuries to Doucoure and Delph will come as another blow for Everton in what has been a season to forget for the Merseyside club.

The Blues remain managerless after the sacking of Rafa Benitez earlier in the month, with a replacement likely to be announced before their next match in the Premier League.

As it stands, Vitor Pereira and Frank Lampard are the leading candidates for the Everton job as per the Evening Standard, with the historic Premier League side hovering just above the relegation zone.

And with Doucoure and Delph now out for over a month with injuries, Everton’s woes have only just worsened, with supporters on social media fuming that two midfielders are now out on the treatment table.

With Tom Davies also out, injuries have hit the central midfield position hard for Everton. And fans are starting to fear that February could be another month to forget for the club.
