Jamie O’Hara has described Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier as an ‘absolute liability’ following this afternoon’s defeat at Elland Road.
Tottenham’s Champions League qualification hopes suffered a major knock as Leeds cruised to a 3-1 win over the North Londoners under caretaker manager Ryan Mason.
Spurs fell behind shortly before half time when Patrick Bamford tapped the hosts into a 2-1 lead.
But it stemmed from the Tottenham right-back failing to spot the overlapping Ezgjan Alioski, who fizzed in the cross for Bamford.
During the second half, Aurier conceded a number of silly, needless free kicks – including one on Raphinha who was going absolutely nowhere – and suffice to say that O’Hara isn’t a big fan of the Ivorian defender.
What a difference a week makes for the former Paris Saint-Germain right back.
Last Sunday, he was being praised from pillar to post over his scooped pass for Gareth Bale in the demolition of Sheffield United.
But he was majorly suspect here defensively and Jack Harrison had the beating of him quite a bit.
It has to be said that Sergio Reguilon, on the other side of Spurs’ defence, didn’t have a great game either, with the Spaniard partially culpable for Stuart Dallas’s opener.
Consequence of the defeat, Mason’s side could end the weekend eight points off the top four with only three Premier League games to go, with Chelsea, who have a game in hand, five points clear of the sixth-placed Lilywhites as things stand.
