Former Arsenal star Santi Cazorla rolled back the years with a sumptuous free kick for Qatari side Al Sadd this weekend.

Cazorla, who spent six years on Arsenal’s books, equalised on the hour mark by bending a wonderful effort – with his weaker foot – into the far corner.

The Spain international was released by the Gunners in the summer of 2018 once Unai Emery took over from Arsene Wenger.

But here’s how some fans of the North London club reacted to their former magician’s exploits against Al Nassr.

Cazorla endured a heartbreaking last few years at the Emirates Stadium due to injury, which undeniably played a role in Arsenal’s decision not to extend his contract.

That being said, he got over his injury problems the second he left the Premier League.

He joined Villarreal on a free transfer and wound up making 70 Primera Liga appearances during his two-year spell at El Madrigal, illustrating that he well and truly conquered his fitness problems.

His form back in Spain also resulted in a recall to the international scene.
