Daniel Levy would be hailed as a genius if he signs Kyle Walker’s replacement at bargain fee.

Tottenham Hotspur target Jeremy Toljan could be available for as little as £3 million, according to German newspaper BILD.

The Germany under-21 international has only one year remaining on his contract at Hoffenheim and the club doubt they can hold onto him.

BILD report Tottenham are leading the chase for the right-back, and if Tottenham pull it off, it will be quite some deal.

After selling Kyle Walker to Manchester City for £54 million, buying his potential replacement for just £3 million would be astounding business by Spurs.

It would see chairman Daniel Levy hailed as a genius, and the deal would be so low risk that Tottenham could afford for it not to work out.

The only question would be whether Tottenham really need Toljan at all, as they already have Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker-Peters competing for the right-back position.

Yet with Toljan to costs just £3 million, Tottenham would be silly not to add him at that price and throw him into the mix.

Spurs are yet to make any signings this summer and have been biding their time in the transfer market.

If that means breaking their duck with an almighty bargain for Toljan, the delay will be worth the wait.
