Trevor Sinclair said on talkSPORT (8:40am, November 20, 2020) that he has not been convinced by Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale yet.

Sinclair believes that Bale, who returned to Tottenham on loan from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, has not done an awful lot so far this season.

The talkSPORT pundit made the comments while discussing whether the front three of Tottenham are as good as their Manchester City counterparts.

Tottenham will take on City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Sinclair said about Bale on talkSPORT (8:40am, November 20, 2020): “Since he has come back to the Premier League, I have not seen enough to indicate that he is going to make that front three better than Manchester City’s front three, that’s all.

“I think Son and Kane, they are already proven, they are great, but I don’t think Bale has shown me enough yet. He may do in the weeks to come, in the months to come, but at the moment, the jury’s still out whether he is going to be that much of an impact.”

Getting better

Bale has not played regularly for Tottenham and was injured when he joined the North London club. It is taking time for the Wales international to get back to his best, but he is getting there.

The 31-year-old played well for Wales against Finland in midweek, as he provided an assist and went close to scoring.

Bale has a lot to offer, and in the coming weeks and months, he will become a key figure for Tottenham and will play his role in achieving their targets this season.

According to WhoScored, Bale, who is very popular among the club’s fans, has scored one goal in 116 minutes in the Premier League and has played thrice in the Europa League for Spurs so far this season.
