Liverpool fans suggest that they are glad they never signed Timo Werner now.
Liverpool were strongly linked with Werner throughout the summer in the Guardian, but he ultimately went to Chelsea for £45 million (Sky Sports).
The Reds, instead, targeted Diogo Jota and swiftly brought him in from Wolves.
Jota scored a hat-trick last night, as Liverpool beat Atalanta 5-0 in the Champions League.
The Portuguese forward has now netted seven goals in his first 10 games.
And Liverpool fans think that Jota may actually be a better fit for them than Werner now.
In fairness to Werner he has also made a bright start at Chelsea.
But Liverpool do seem to have pulled off a simply brilliant addition by snapping up Jota.
The £41 million fee they paid (BBC Sport) for the Portuguese forward is rapidly looking like a bargain, and he has already made the Reds even more of an attacking force than they were last season.
