Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final on June 1st.

Jurgen Klopp suggested that Liverpool ace Naby Keita is a long way away from being fully fit in time for the Champions League final against Tottenham, when speaking exclusively to the club’s official website.
The 24-year-old sustained a thigh injury during the first-leg of the Reds’ Champions League semi-final clash with Barcelona in the Camp Nou last month, and he has only just started running again in training.
Despite struggling to settle at Anfield initially, Keita has now become a really important player for Liverpool, and he will certainly be missed in the final in Madrid next month, if he does in fact end up missing out.
Klopp spoke to reporters today, and suggested that the Guinean is ahead of schedule in his recovery, but that he still is highly doubtful to be fit in time for his side’s clash with Spurs, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“Naby is, I would say, a bit ahead of schedule, but that doesn’t mean anything for the final. He is now doing straight runs and all of that stuff, he feels comfortable with 50 per cent intensity and these things – but there is still a way to go.”
Liverpool do, of course, have plenty of options in central midfield, and Klopp will just be hoping that whoever fills in for Keita against Tottenham produces the goods on the night.
Fabinho is almost guaranteed to start, leaving James Milner, Gini Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson to battle it out for the remaining two spots.
