West Ham United have been linked with Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in recent times.
According to a report in the Telegraph, Liverpool will not entertain any offers for striker Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window.
West Ham United have been linked with Sturridge in recent times (Telegraph), but it seems any offer they did make this month would be turned down.
Liverpool are keen to give Sturridge a chance to prove he still has what it takes to make a future for himself at Anfield.
The England international remains one of the finest striking talents in the Premier League, but his constant struggles with injury have seen him slip down the pecking order with the Reds.
The likes of Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino have both been utilised more frequently than Sturridge up-front this season by Jurgen Klopp.
And when asked what the future has in store for Sturridge, Klopp responded by saying: “We don’t have to think about it because we are exactly in the middle of the season.
“If he stays fit, there is the whole thing and we don’t talk about other clubs and things like this.
“How good you can be depends on a lot of things. His talent and skill there is absolutely no doubt about. He has cleverness and everything you need on the pitch is absolutely outstanding. But he has not been often enough fit. That is how it is. So that is another important part.
“Nobody in the team, nobody in the squad is in doubt about him being a wonderful player. No doubt.”
Sturridge is expected to start for Liverpool this evening, in their League Cup semi-final match against Southampton at St. Mary’s.
The 27-year-old has netted eight goals in 19 appearances in total this season.
