Liverpool were right at it against Barcelona at Anfield last night.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp spoke to reporters after his side’s thrilling 4-0 Champions League comeback against Barcelona last night, and shared what he told his players during the build-up to the match, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The Reds were quite simply breathtaking from the very first whistle right up until the last yesterday, and in truth, they made Barcelona look very average.

Liverpool were first to every loose ball, were stronger in the challenge than their Spanish counterparts, and played with plenty of creativity and invention in the final third.

The Merseyside outfit had their backs against the wall after losing the first-leg 3-0 at the Camp Nou last week, so Klopp would have undoubtedly had to rouse his players before the match last night.

But what did he say?

The German spoke to reporters after the win last night, and shared what he told the Liverpool players in the dressing room before the match, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“I said to the boys before the game, ‘I don’t think it’s possible but because it’s you I think we have a chance’ – is because they are really mentality giants. It’s unbelievable after the season we played, the games we had, the injuries we have now in this moment.”

Liverpool have been mightily impressive this season, and it is hard to argue that they do not deserve to win at least one trophy.

The could still win two, of course, but whatever happens, Klopp will be extremely proud of his players.
