Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has been speaking about the minor injury Virgil van Dijk picked up on international duty this week.
The Liverpool star linked up with the Netherlands over the past fortnight, and against Turkey he picked up an ankle problem.
Luckily, it’s one he recovered from very quickly, but at the time he went down, Klopp was in a panicked state, immediately texting Pep Lijnders, who was able to watch the game on Dutch TV, about the situation.
What’s been said?
Klopp spoke about his initial reaction to van Dijk’s injury.
“Yeah, I saw it, of course, I was concerned, but then my broadcast switched off. So I was in contact with my assistant who was watching on Dutch TV, I asked him if he was ok and he text back ‘not sure’, so it was not a good moment. But after the game Virgil sent me a thumbs up and said it was alright,” Klopp said.

Great news
Van Dijk going down for his country was a worrying sight, especially after the tough year he’s had, but luckily it seems as though he’s fine.
As we say though, it looked rather serious at one point, and Lijnders wasn’t able to judge whether or not he was ok, with his text to Klopp being rather unsure.
It’s great to hear the Dutchman is fit and firing once again, and we can only hope that his injury worries are well and truly behind him after last year’s issues.
