Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told The Liverpool Echo how he felt while watching Manchester City last night.

City hammered Burnley 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Monday evening.

It was arguably the best performance from a Premier League team since the resumption of the season and one of the best so far this campaign.

Klopp was watching the match, and the Liverpool manager has admitted his admiration for the Citizens’ football.

When asked if he even considers not winning the title this season, Klopp told The Liverpool Echo: “No. The only thing I realised from watching the game last night was how is it possible any team is 20 points ahead of that team? We must have done something right.”

Best team in England

City have an incredibly strong team and have won the Premier League title for the past two seasons, but there is no doubt that this campaign it is Liverpool who have been the best team in England.

The Reds are as many as 20 points clear of second-placed City at the top of the league table, and could actually ascertain the championship title against Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad Stadium on July 2.

It will be interesting to see if and how City manage to close the gap on Liverpool next season.

For now, it is just a matter of time before the Reds are crowned champions of England.
