Jürgen Klopp was seen going crazy on the sidelines after an 89th minute moment involving Stefan Bajcetic as Liverpool defeated Leicester.

The Reds scraped a 2-1 victory over the Foxes despite failing to score a goal themselves, with Wout Faes netting two own goals to hand three points to the Merseysiders.

As the game entered a scrappy period for Liverpool in the dying stages, Klopp was seen gesticulating wildly on the touchline.

What’s the story?

Well, the 55-year-old could be seen pumping his fists emphatically on the touchline, almost as if his side had scored a goal, after Bajcetic lunged into a strong challenge on Luke Thomas in the 89th minute.

Just three minutes after replacing Harvey Elliott, the Spaniard got Anfield and Klopp roaring with a committed tackle which nullified a Leicester attack during a nervy moment for Liverpool.

The rest of Klopp’s side were beginning to look tired as Leicester found themselves with plenty of time on the ball, which is perhaps why the German was so pleased to see Bajcetic inject some life into the game.

At the age of just 18, Bajcetic is really starting to make an impact under Klopp amid something of a crisis in midfield.

Liverpool are severely lacking depth in that department, although the issue has provided an opportunity for the teenager to step up and impress, which he is undoubtedly doing.

Liverpool must change something after 2-1 win over Leicester

If Liverpool play like they did against Leicester regularly in the second half of the campaign, they are highly unlikely to qualify for the Champions League.

It was a lethargic display with plenty of wasteful finishing on show, while the likes of Harvey Elliott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain struggled to make an impact in midfield.

Klopp simply has to sign at least one new midfielder after witnessing that performance.

If not, then Bajcetic arguably deserves to be starting across the next few weeks, after impressing with a goal against Aston Villa and a committed cameo against Leicester.
