Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has been discussing Naby Keita, and he says the future is bright for the Guinean.
Keita arrived at Liverpool four years ago with plenty of fanfare.
Indeed, Keita’s move to Anfield was announced almost a year in advance, and, understandably, the excitement was palpable when he arrived.
Sadly, due to injuries, Keita has struggled to really make his mark on Merseyside, but according to Klopp, he’s now in a rhythm, and the German believes that the future is very bright for the midfielder.
What’s been said?
Klopp spoke about Keita.
“When Naby was fit and he could get some rhythm he was always really good, unfortunately, he could not get as much rhythm as he wished and we wished in the past. Maybe that’s over now and the future is bright for him, he’s a great player,” Klopp said.

New deal?
Klopp is clearly a big fan of Keita, and he says that the future is bright for the midfielder, so, will the former Leipzig man be getting a new deal in the near future?
The Guinean’s contract is up in the summer of 2023, and as he enters the final year of his deal, speculation around his future will surely amp up.
However, if his good form continues and Klopp continues to champion him, then it’s fair to assume that a contract extension could be on the horizon for this midfielder.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Keita, but according to Klopp, it will be bright, and the German is very rarely wrong.
