
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that Jordan Henderson did not suffer an injury against Aston Villa.
The defending Premier League champions got the better of Villa 4-1 away from home at Villa Park in the third round of the FA Cup on Friday evening.
Henderson started the match, but the England international was replaced by fellow midfielder Thiago at the start of the second half.
Klopp has said that the former Sunderland star did not suffer an injury, and that it was planned that he would be replaced by Thiago at the half-time interval.
The German told Liverpool’s official website when asked if Henderson was injured: “No, no, Hendo and Thiago was clear before the game that we do it like this: 45, 45. Absolutely no problem.”
Good win for Liverpool
It was hard for Liverpool in the opening 60 minutes, but the Reds eventually showed their class against the Villa youngsters.
It was a good win overall for the Reds, who will now hope to go on a run in the FA Cup.
The Merseyside club will next face Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League.
It promises to be a very good and exciting match between the two bitter rivals.
Liverpool are at the top the Premier League table at the moment with 33 points from 17 matches, level on points with second-placed United, who have played 16 games.
