Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has named four youngsters who have looked great in training, as quoted in The Mirror.
The Reds are having some injury problems, especially in defence, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez long-term absentees.
According to The Mirror, forward Mohamed Salah will not play against Leicester City this weekend as he is self-isolating, while midfielder Jordan Henderson is injured for the Premier League match.
The report has claimed that Rhys Williams, Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho all are doubtful for the match.
The defending Premier League champions have to rely on youngsters for now, and a number of players from the academy have been training with the senior side.
Liverpool manager Klopp has named four youngsters who have impressed him in training – Luis Longstaff, Paul Glatzel, Leighton Clarkson and Jake Cain – and he has also praised Billy Koumetio.
Klopp told The Mirror: “[Luis] Longstaff, [Paul] Glatzel, Leighton Clarkson, Jake Cain, they look sensationally well. Billy [Koumetio] is back as well after all the little, big issues he had.”
Encouraging
Klopp publicly praising Longstaff, Glatzel, Clarkson, Cain and Koumetio shows how highly he rates them and the quality they have.
Of course, it is not going to be easy for them to establish themselves in the senior side anytime soon due to the calibre of players when everyone is fit, but they should continue to work hard and impress Klopp in training.
