Sport reported earlier this month of interest in Thiago from Premier League club Liverpool.
The report in the Spanish publication claimed that the Merseyside outfit were close to the signing of the former Barcelona central midfielder.
Klopp is a fan of the 29-year-old Spain international central midfielder, but he has refused to say if he will make a move for the Bayern star.
Klopp told Sky Germany (19:59, July 24, 2020), as translated by Goal.com: “I have no idea who will play for me next year, there is nothing to say at the moment.
“Thiago Alcantara is a great player, but also a Bayern Munich player. That’s actually all there is to say. There’s nothing to say!”
Sensible stance
Klopp refusing to openly discuss if he will sign Thiago or not is a very sensible stance.
After all, the Spaniard is at another club, and it would not be wise of the German manager to speak about players who are not at Anfield.
However, there is no doubt that Thiago would be a good signing for Liverpool in the summer transfer window and would make an immediate impact at the Premier League champions.
The Spaniard is a serial winner, and that winning mentality would fit in nicely at Anfield.
