Liverpool stopper Loris Karius is facing heavy criticism, after making an error in Jurgen Klopp’s side’s last match.
Jurgen Klopp has told the Daily Mirror that he has no problem with Jamie Carragher’s criticism of Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.
Carragher was particularly scathing with his criticism of Karius, after the summer signing made a costly error during Liverpool’s match against Bournemouth at the weekend.
Karius spilled a long shot right into the path of Nathan Ake in the last minute, which allowed Bournemouth to pick up a 4-3 victory.
And Carragher claimed that the German goalkeeper has shown nothing to suggest that he was up to the standard required to play in goal for Liverpool.
Klopp was quizzed on the comments after the match, but the Reds boss insists he has no problem with what Carragher said.
“No concern. No problem, if you make mistakes you get criticised,” Klopp said. “That’s what happens in life. If you have quality… I’m sure people criticised Jamie Carragher in his career, if there’s a reason I’m not sure.
“If you want to say we’re blind, silly, not good enough, do it. It has no influence on what I do to my team. Write it. I won’t read it.”
There are now serious question marks over whether Karius will retain his place in Liverpool’s goal for future matches.
Klopp has backed Karius throughout his time at Anfield so far, but the calls for Simon Mignolet to be reinstated are growing louder.
Liverpool are next in action when they take on West Ham United at Anfield.
