Liverpool had to play without Mo Salah against Manchester United yesterday.

There were suggestions before the match that Salah was set to recover from injury in time to start against Manchester United.
However, Liverpool had to go without the Egyptian international yesterday.
And Klopp admits that Salah, who is on a £200,000-a-week contract at Anfield (Daily Express), never actually had a chance of making it back in time to play in the derby match.
“Mo was not ready so that’s how it is, he couldn’t train with the team, I don’t know where it came from that everybody said he will play, there was pretty much no chance for today, but maybe for Wednesday, we will see,” Klopp said.
Liverpool missed Salah yesterday, as their usual attacking threat wasn’t on display at Old Trafford.

The Reds were well stifled by United, and relied on a late goal from Adam Lallana to claim a point in the end.
Divock Origi was the man who came into Liverpool’s line-up to replace Salah, but he only made a minimal impact on the game.
Liverpool’s draw with United means that their gap at the top of the table has been closed by Manchester City, but they still remain unbeaten in domestic action this term.
