According to 90min, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City are interesting in signing Declan Rice from West Ham.
Chelsea have also made the England international one of their top targets.
Interestingly, The Athletic say that Rice’s father, Sean, holds a season ticket at Stamford Bridge.
Anyway, enough about Chelsea.
Liverpool’s interest is particularly intriguing, as Jürgen Klopp has made no secret of his admiration for the West Ham academy graduate in the past.
Back in February 2019 before the Reds took on the Hammers, the former Borussia Dortmund boss singled Rice out for praise.
Speaking about the £60,000-a-week midfielder’s rise in football, Klopp is quoted by Football London as saying: “(Declan) Rice, fantastic development next to (Mark) Noble in midfield, experience and youth.”

Now, nearly two years on, it looks as if the Liverpool boss wants to bring the ‘fantastic’ 22-year-old to Anfield.
In our view, he would be an excellent addition.
Aside from Fabinho, Liverpool lack an out-and-out midfield destroyer who can spoil opposition attacks and get counter-attacks started.

Significantly, while Fabinho has had to fill in at centre-back, Liverpool appear to have missed that bite in midfield.
The Reds are winless in their last five Premier League outings.
Fabinho not playing in midfield isn’t the sole reason for that, although we believe it’s a contributing factor to Liverpool’s poor run.
