Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp addressed the media ahead of his side’s trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has confirmed at his pre-match press conference that Adam Lallana has returned to training, raising hopes that he could be fit to face Bournemouth on Sunday lunchtime, the Liverpool Echo live blog reports.
Lallana has been sidelined with a groin injury he picked up during the last international break and returned to training yesterday, though Klopp suggested there is a little way to before deciding if he plays a part in Sunday’s game.
There was also positive news for Roberto Firmino, who has returned to training after being substituted late on during last weekend’s win over Sunderland with a calf problem.

He told reporters, as reported by the Liverpool Echo: “I am happy about each player back in training. Adam is training, yesterday was the first session. We need to see how he reacts. Yesterday was quite intense.
“Roberto (Firmino) trained yesterday. Still a little bit of pain but not that serious.”
Klopp has said there will be changes for the trip to the south coast after making a number of changes for the EFL Cup quarter-final win over Leeds United.
However, Daniel Sturridge will not be part of the squad as he hasn’t been in training all week, but Klopp took some time to dismiss any notion of selling the player in the January transfer window.
He said: “I don’t think it makes sense (to sell).”
“Unfortunately, Daniel is not in training. That is more important than transfers.

“You and your colleagues create stories and then ask me about them. There is no thought of selling any player from first team squad.”
One player who has returned to first team training in recent weeks has been Sheyi Ojo – who had been sidelined in recent weeks because of a back injury, but Klopp has suggested it will be a little while yet before he is back in first team action.
“Ojo needs a lot of training. Not injured any more but he needs training, training, training and games for second (under-23) team.”
On the topic of young players, Klopp refused to confirm whether Ben Woodburn would be part of the squad to travel to Dean Court after two substitute appearances in the past week – including the one against Leeds United where he became the club’s youngest ever goalscorer.
