The Liverpool midfielder has been in excellent form recently.
Jurgen Klopp provided a slightly concerning injury update on Liverpool ace Fabinho when speaking to reporters on Sunday, suggesting that the Brazilian is a doubt for Friday night’s clash with Huddersfield Town, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The 25-year-old joined the Reds from Monaco in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £40 million, and despite initially struggling to establish himself at Anfield, he is beginning to show what he is truly capable of.
Fabinho has been a vitally important player for Liverpool over the past few months, and it could be argued that he is now Klopp’s first choice central midfielder, so losing him for any amount of time will be a big blow for the Merseyside outfit.
Klopp spoke to reporters on Sunday, and admitted that it is not a good sign that the 25-year-old’s legs were shaking after he was substituted off in the 75th minute against Cardiff City, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“It was very unlucky. Fabinho is OK but he had a bit of shaky legs and that’s of course not a good sign in the moment.”
Klopp does have plenty of central midfield options, so Liverpool should easily be able to cope against Huddersfield, with or without Fabinho, but even so, the sooner the Brazilian is back fit the better for Klopp and co.
