Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp spoke to BBC about Sadio Mane’s incredible performances this season.

The Reds were crowned champions only a few days ago and Mane’s performances this season is one of the biggest reasons why Liverpool managed to end their drought.

Mane has 20 goals and 12 assists to his name in all competitions this term. He saved Liverpool from dropping points on more than one occasion this season and Klopp is lucky to have him.

Mane’s big money signing raised eyebrows in 2016

Many people questioned Liverpool’s decision to fork out £34 million (BBC) to sign the Senegalese international from Southampton all those years ago.

Klopp admitted that he knew people’s doubts but the Liverpool boss claims that he was ‘100 per cent sure’ that Mane would be a huge success.

He said: “Maybe people thought ‘I am not sure he is worth it’, but we were 100 per cent sure about him. Consistency was the key and absolutely now what he is doing and how he performs is consistent.”

“The level he performs at is unbelievable. He helps us massively. He is a complete player, offensively and defensively he works hard, he is really quick. It’s great to have him here.”

Mane is among the best players in the Premier League and possibly, in the world. The former Saints star’s performances make the £34 million that Liverpool paid for him look like a real bargain now.

Liverpool fans, just like Klopp, are delighted to have him and they will be hoping that he stays for years to come. Mane will be integral in the Reds’ title defence next term and if his performances over the last two seasons are anything to go by, they will be the favourites to win it again.
