Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Mohamed Salah on the club’s official website.

Klopp has said that the Egypt international forward is very important player for his team, and has hailed him for what he has done for his team over the years.

The German boss has also said that he did not know that the 28-year-old could create another record this season.

As stated on Liverpool’s official website, Salah will become the first ever Reds player and only the second in Premier League history to score in four successive league openers if he finds the net against Leeds United at Anfield on Saturday.

Klopp told Liverpool’s official website about Salah: “I’m really surprised there’s another record he can break. I thought he broke all of them already. You are 100 per cent right – he’s incredibly important, was incredibly important for our development.

“I think with the way we played we could help him as well with things we did on and off the pitch. But we did it to all of them and not everybody would use it in the same way as he used the opportunities. So that’s absolutely incredible.”

Key player at Liverpool

Salah has been on the books of Liverpool since 2017 and has established himself as a key figure in Klopp’s team.

The 28-year-old forward has been instrumental in the Reds winning the Premier League title and the Champions League over the past two seasons.

The former AS Roma star scored 19 goals and provided 10 assists in the league last season, while in 2018-19, he scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in the Premier League, according to WhoScored.

Thiago Alcantara to Liverpool?

Meanwhile, Klopp has given his take on Liverpool’s reported interest in Bayern Munich central midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

According to The Mirror in August and Bleacher Report in September, the Premier League champions are interested in signing the 29-year-old Spain international central midfielder from Bayern this summer.

Klopp told The Liverpool Echo about Thiago: “If I could invent a word that would end speculations, I think I would become really rich. Did I mention Thiago Alcantara is a really good player?

“It’s nice that we are linked with him but it’s because he’s a good player and Liverpool are a big club. It’s maybe good for you I can’t end the speculation.”
