Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told the club’s official website after the match against Arsenal that Everton and West Ham United can go past them.

The defending English champions got the better of Arsenal 3-0 away from home at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The result means that Liverpool are now fifth in the Premier League table with 49 points from 30 matches, two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Speaking after the match, Klopp said that Liverpool are still in the race for the Premier League top four, but he pointed out that Everton and West Ham can go past them.

Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “We have to win our games and somebody else has to lose because we don’t play most of them anymore, but we have to make pressure on them and that’s what we did tonight with the result.

“We are still not in the end of the season or finished; Everton can pass us, West Ham can pass us and all these kind of things, so we have to fight and that’s the statement for us and nobody else.”

West Ham United and Everton threat

Both West Ham and Everton are in the running for the Champions League places in the Premier League table this season.

While the Hammers are currently sixth with 49 points from 29 matches, the Toffees have picked up 46 points from 28 games.

Mathematically both the Hammers and the Toffees can finish above Liverpool, and manager Klopp acknowledging the threat from them shows just how well they are doing this season.
