Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that it is very likely that Manchester City will be their opponents in most competitions now.

However, Klopp has made it clear that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will not find it easy to win against his Liverpool team.

Klopp made the comments following Liverpool’s win against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday.

The Merseyside club won at the City Ground to book their place in the semi-finals of the competition.

Liverpool will take on City for a place in the FA Cup final.

The Reds are also competing with the Citizens for the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool and City have progressed to the quarter-finals of the Champions League this campaign as well.

Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool and Manchester City

Klopp said: “Before the game, [we knew] obviously City would be the opponents if you want to go to the final anyway. The further you go in whichever competition, it is likely you will face City at one point.

“And this year that you will face us at one point, I don’t think we are the dream draw for anybody. But it will be a tough one, we have to make sure we make it tough for City as well. There are a lot of games to play before then.”

A rivalry for the ages

In our opinion, the rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester City is one for the ages.

Yes, City have won the Premier League title more than Liverpool since Klopp and Guardiola have been in the Premier League.

But the Reds have not let the Citizens run away and have always pushed them.

Just like they are doing this season.

What a rivalry we have now!
