Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has given his take on Manchester City’s reported interest in Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, as quoted in The Liverpool Echo.
What’s the story?
City are interested in signing Kane from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
Manager Pep Guardiola himself has publicly acknowledged his interest in the 28-year-old striker.
The Times are reporting that the Premier League champions will bid £120 million for Kane in the coming days.
What Jurgen Klopp thinks
Liverpool manager Klopp believes that Kane joining City will make the Citizens even better.
The Liverpool Echo quotes Klopp as saying: “Everybody has an opinion about it but it is not my position to judge the things that other clubs are doing.
“So the thing that I love about a football match is not about having the best 11 players. That’s how it is. So that always gives you a chance to win a football game. We very often had the better players, probably, on the pitch but lost anyway.
“That’s not good but it shows there is a chance for us as well if we face a team with better players than us. I don’t see that to be 100 per cent honest.
“But if that is the case and there are new ones, who have not been at the club long and have cost a lot of money – of course all the players the clubs have signed have real quality – and if Harry is really going to Man City that would not make them worse! So that’s incredible.”

Impact on title race
City have already signed Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, and if they get Kane, then they will get even better in attack.
The Citizens won the Premier League title pretty comfortably last season.
Guardiola’s side are probably the favourites to win the title this season.
However, it would be a bit lazy to suggest that if City sign Kane, then they will win the Premier League title with ease.

Chelsea have signed Romelu Lukaku, while Manchester United have brought in Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho.
Liverpool remain a strong side who have added Ibrahima Konate to the team.
