Jurgen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers go head to head this weekend.

The first international break of the season is upon us, and whilst many top stars will be travelling around the world with their countries, there is a charity game taking place at Celtic Park this weekend.

Celtic play host to ‘A Match for Cancer’, in which stars from over their years will put their boots back on in order to raise money for charity.

The game sees ‘Team Petrov’ take on ‘Team Milner’ on Saturday afternoon, with Stiliyan Petrov and James Milner captaining the sides, with a host of major names recruited for the game.

Ex-Celtic stars Artur Boruc, Henrik Larsson, Lubo Moravcik, John Hartson and Johan Mjallby will all be in action alongside their former teammate Petrov, along with his former Bulgarian international teammate Hristo Stoichkov.

Meanwhile, Team Milner features former England internationals such as Chris Kirkland, Micah Richards, Stephen Warnock, Joleon Lescott, Emile Heskey and John Terry, who have all played with Milner during his career.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will be in charge of Team Petrov, whilst Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp – Milner’s current manager at Anfield – will lead Team Milner, with the German sending a message to Rodgers ahead of the game.

It was Klopp who succeeded Rodgers as Liverpool boss in October 2015, and he is renting the house Rodgers lived in, meaning he joked in a video on Celtic’s official Twitter account that he has issues to discuss with Rodgers this weekend – such as plumbing, electricity and the swimming pool.

“It will be fun for sure,” said Klopp. “Especially because I meet my landlord, I think for the first time since he left Liverpool and I came here. We have a lot of things to talk about. The plumbing issue, electricity, the pool and stuff like that. So Brendan, hope you are in good shape and we can sort a few things that day,” he added.
