As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Jurgen Klopp has no interest in becoming the German national coach, as he remains fully focused on Liverpool.

The issues Klopp is set to face at Liverpool

However, we believe that Klopp would thrive as Die Mannschaft boss significantly more in comparison to staying as Reds manager.

There is no denying that the Merseyside-based club are in desperate need of a rebuild, with big names such as Fabinho and Jordan Henderson undergoing a fall from grace.

While some may reckon the 55-year-old would be tailor-made to spearhead Liverpool’s upcoming cycle, a question that begs answering is when the manager has initiated such a squad refresh in his career?

At Borussia Dortmund, Jurgen Klopp could not manage to do so, with stalwarts such as Robert Lewandowski and Mario Goetze heading to Bayern Munich.

While this is not to suggest that this was all down to the Liverpool legend, it is worth reminding many that his Dortmund side finished as low as 9th place in the Bundesliga in his final season.

And at points, the German giants looked destined for relegation.

With the Reds reported to be set for a change in ownership as well, the instability at the club would not suit Klopp to guide his side into a new era.

Furthermore, FSG’s much-maligned lack of investment in any case continues to hamstring the renowned tactician.

The Telegraph had recently reported that Liverpool simply cannot fund the arrival of midfield target Jude Bellingham, who is likelier to join either Real Madrid or Manchester City.

Considering Klopp’s men are expected to win silverware during their golden era in the Premier League, things seem geared to be headed south.

Why he is tailor-made for the Germany job

On the other hand, the world does not expect Germany to become champions of either Euro 2024 or the 2026 World Cup.

Hansi Flick’s men suffered a group stage elimination at Qatar and are not best-placed to dominate the international arena, unlike other major football nations like Brazil and France namely.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp would be suited to steering the ship and adding much-needed stability to the Germany setup with a long-term plan of success in place, much like at his time at Liverpool.

Furthermore, Klopp is a knockout specialist.

During his 7-year tenure at the club, he has guided the English giants to an impressive three Champions League finals.

And if not for a Mohamed Salah injury coupled with a Lorius Karius horror show against Real Madrid, as well as a Thibaut Courtois masterclass in 2022, the ex-Mainz boss would have had three Champions League medals to his name.

Also, the decorated coach would not struggle to get the best out of a frontline that lacks the presence of a natural striker, as displayed by how he made a forward triumvirate of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino the scariest in the world.

On the contrary, Hansi Flick found it next to impossible to ensure a collective of forwards minus a top goalscorer could convert their chances on a readily basis.

While Jurgen Klopp’s loyalty to Liverpool is admirable, succeeding Hansi Flick at Germany would have been a smarter decision, in our view.
