The German manager has been a big hit since replacing Brendan Rodgers.

Michael Owen has told BT Sport that Jurgen Klopp is already a ‘hero’ with the Liverpool faithful.

The German manager replaced Brendan Rodgers earlier in the season, with the Reds having endured a disappointing start to the campaign.

He has been a big hit, with his enthusiastic manner going down well with fans and journalists alike.

And Owen says he is already a firm favourite at Anfield, despite his relatively short reign.

“He’s already a hero in these parts, they absolutely love him here,” he told BT Sport.

“The results since he’s taken over have been an improvement, they re doing well, they’re now qualified for the next round of Europa League and creeping up the league.”

“A lot of what he’s saying is hitting the right notes. I think his style of football is going to be loved around these parts.”

Based on the start he’s made at Anfield, it certainly seems that Klopp will be a big success at Anfield.

During Brendan Rodgers’ reign, his apparent lack of options were widely discussed, but that does not seem to be something that has hindered the German.

Instead, the strength of his squad is now regularly debated, while the issues up front are long forgotten.

If they keep up their current form, there is no denying they could be challenging for a top four spot and beyond in the future.

For now, Klopp is unlikely to be setting any targets, but he will surely be focused on building on the improvements he has overseen so far.
