Liverpool won against Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that Philippe Coutinho was not happy when he was substituted against Everton in the Premier League.
Coutinho featured for Liverpool in the Merseyside derby against Everton at home on Saturday afternoon.
The 24-year-old Brazil international attacking midfielder started the game and played for 74 minutes.
The former Inter Milan man, who can also operate as a winger, scored just past the half-hour mark to help the Reds to a 3-1 win.
Liverpool manager Klopp has admitted that Coutinho was not happy when he was substituted, but he has stated that he liked his attitude.
“He had a really, really good game; really good for us and he was not happy when I took him off,” Klopp told Liverpool’s official website about Coutinho’s performance.
“I like his desire, but I thought in this game it makes sense that when you’ve already lost one offensive player, you save another one a little bit.”
Coutinho had a brilliant game against Everton, and one can understand his frustration when Klopp decided to make the change and bring him off.
It is very encouraging that Coutinho wants to play as much as he can, but at the same time it is important that he gets proper rest and does not get injured as he is a key player for Liverpool.
