Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has been discussing Divock Origi ahead of his final games as a Liverpool player.
The Belgian is reportedly set to leave the Reds at the end of the season to join AC Milan, and Klopp has been waxing-lyrical about the Belgian and the legacy he leaves behind.
Origi has never been one of Liverpool’s best players, but he’s certainly one of their most important, and Klopp has labelled him a club legend, despite saying that it sounds incredibly strange to say that.
What’s been said?
Klopp serenaded Origi.
“He is and will be for me forever a Liverpool legend, one of the most important players I’ve ever had, that sounds completely strange considering the amount of games he’s had, but he is and was a pure joy to work with. It’s not over yet, but yes he deserves all good thoughts for his future and wherever he will go he will be successful, he’s an outstanding player and an outstanding boy,” Klopp said.

Not strange at all
Klopp says that it sounds strange to call Origi a Liverpool legend due to the amount of games he’s played, but that isn’t what makes a legend.
Origi has popped up time and time again in the biggest moments for Liverpool, and when the greatest moments of the club’s recent history are analysed, Origi is involved in almost all of them.
He’s not the type of player who will score you 20 goals a season, but he’s the man for a big moment, and who knows? Perhaps he still has one more moment of genius up his sleeve.
