The Liverpool boss is a big fan of Tottenham Hotspur’s philosophy.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s clash with Tottenham at Anfield tomorrow, and delivered his verdict on Mauricio Pochettino’s lack of transfer business over the past two transfer windows, as quoted by the club’s official YouTube account.

Spurs haven’t signed anyone since January 2018, when they brought Lucas Moura to the club from Paris Saint-Germain, but quite incredibly, they have remained extremely competitive, both domestically and on the continent.

Tottenham will surely be looking to strengthen in the summer, however, although Mauricio Pochettino’s hands might be tied behind his back, what with the huge financial outlay on their magnificent new 62,062 capacity arena.

And Klopp told reporters how he admires the way in which the Argentine has gone about his work at Spurs over the past 18 months, as quoted by the club’s official YouTube account:

“The are so many positive things you could say about Mauricio, he’s a fantastic manager, the whole club looks quite settled. In England, if you don’t do transfers, that’s really a big thing, but with the team they have, the first line-up of Tottenham is difficult to improve. If they are all together, that’s a real football team. I respect their way a lot. If you don’t make transfer it’s because of money, and if you watch their stadium, so you have to save a little bit of money for that, and I would say that’s what they did.”

Liverpool play host to Tottenham tomorrow, and both clubs are in desperate need of all three points, for very different reasons.

The Reds are gunning for the Premier League title, whilst Spurs have a real fight on their hands in the race for the Champions League places.
