Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that fans will now start to see the best of Thiago.

Klopp has explained why Thiago has not been at his best for Liverpool this season.

The German coach has said that the 30-year-old Spain international central midfielder will get back to his best soon.

Klopp told the club’s official website about Thiago: “Thiago came in a really difficult season, but is a very important player for us and that’s the most important thing you can say about it. He started really well but then got a bad injury – an annoying injury as well because it took really long.

“Then coming back in a team where it is not clicking as a football player… he works a lot and is a really good, hard-working guy, but he comes rather from the technical side, he was used to different patterns at Munich and these kind of things. It is just not a year when a new signing just shines, especially in midfield.

:Diogo [Jota] then is in moments a little bit easier, even though he had a really difficult injury as well, because he finished situations off. He was not so much involved in the creating but creating is the moment when different things have to work out together and that’s why it is was difficult for Thiago, but we are completely happy with him and we will see the best.

“I don’t think we saw it already, that’s not a problem, but we are 100 per cent convinced we will get the best out of him because he is a world-class player.”

Thiago is one of the best players on the planet and is a world-class footballer.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich star suffered a long-term injury against Everton in October 2020, and that did not help.

With Liverpool having injury problems, the Reds have had to play Fabinho in defence. Jordan Henderson has also been on the sidelines.

With the Reds not having a settled back-line or a midfield, it has affected Thiago’s ability to influence games.

There have been occasions when Thiago has looked brilliant, and when the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are back from injury and Liverpool can have a settled starting lineup, fans will see the best of the Spaniard.

Thiago has made 15 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League and has made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Champions League for Liverpool this season.
