Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, as quoted in The Liverpool Echo.
The Reds will take on Leicester at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
English striker Vardy is expected to lead the line for Brendan Rodgers’s side, and Klopp is well aware of the threat that the 33-year-old will pose.
The Liverpool Echo has quoted Klopp as saying about Vardy: “His speed! It’s incredible how he uses that. He is a massive threat.
“He gambles in a good way with the last line. His technical level is really good as well. Jamie is a proper, proper player. It’s always a challenge to defend him.”
Big threat for Liverpool
Vardy may be in his 30s, but he remains one of the best strikers in the Premier League and is in great form at the moment.
The 33-year-old has scored eight goals and provided one assist in the league so far this season, while during the 2019-20 campaign, he scored 23 goals and provided five assists in the league, according to WhoScored.
According to The Liverpool Echo, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are injured and will not play, while there are doubts over the fitness of Andy Robertson, Fabinho and Rhys Williams.
It means that Vardy will relish the chance to play against the Reds and will fancy his chances of scoring a goal or two.
