Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that Diogo Jota has been training well.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers winger has not played since December 2020 when he suffered a knee injury.
The 24-year-old Portugal international has started to train with his Liverpool teammates, and Klopp has suggested that he could be ready for the Premier League game against Sheffield United this weekend.
Klopp told the club’s official website: “Diogo trained now twice with the team, looks very good – very good.
“But [he] was out long term so we have to see what we can do with that. But in training he looks really promising.”
Very positive news for Liverpool fans
Liverpool have been adversely affected by injuries, with Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez long-term concerns.
Fabinho, James Milner and even Jordan Henderson have suffered injuries in recent weeks.

Jota seemingly set to return to action soon is great news for Liverpool, who need to put together a run of positive results to enhance their chances of finishing in the Premier League top four.
The attacker will make the Reds more potent and will help the team get wins in the coming weeks and months.
According to WhoScored, Jota has scored five goals in nine Premier League appearances and has scored four goals in six Champions League games for Liverpool so far this season.
