Liverpool needed to come from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool found it ‘difficult’ to defend against Harry Kane as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Anfield on Sunday.
The Reds manager also admitted that he wasn’t surprised by Spurs’ tactics on the day, as he claimed that his side having 70% possession of the ball wasn’t a problem for the away team because of their swift counter-attacks.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side actually took the lead during the game when Kane opened the scoring inside the first minute, but the home team struck back with two goals of their own after the break.
Speaking to Sky Sports Premier League (27/10/19 at 07:00 pm), Klopp shared his thoughts on Tottenham’s tactics and their main man up top, Kane.
If Spurs surprised them tactically: “I don’t think so,” Klopp told Sky Sports. “They don’t have to. It’s not about surprising anybody. They have the quality to cause each team in the world problems.
“When we were really dominant around 70% possession, but that’s okay for a team like Tottenham because each ball you lose, it’s a counter-attack. Then the speed that they have.
“Harry [Kane] is physically so strong that it’s difficult to always defend him 100%. Then you have two sprinters just next to him. It’s just good. They didn’t surprise us really, but the quality was obvious and we played a really good game.”

Liverpool deserved all three points in the end because even though Spurs took that early lead, the away side were being put under serious amounts of pressure.
Considering Klopp’s side want to win the Premier League title, they showcased their title credentials against Spurs by putting in a relentless display.
Those three points on Sunday now means that Liverpool are six clear of second-placed Manchester City in the table, with EFL Cup action and then a Premier League game to come in this coming week.
