Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is world class, as quoted on the club’s official website.
Klopp’s Liverpool will take on City at Anfield in the Premier League today.
Ederson is one of the first names on the City teamsheet, and the Brazil international goalkeeper will start for Pep Guardiola’s side today.
Ahead of the game, Klopp has raved about City’s playing style and has described the 28-year-old as world class.
Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “First and foremost, the best way to defend is to keep the ball, that’s what City are doing pretty well. They have big possession numbers, stuff like that.
“Then they have an exceptional counter-pressing impulse, which helps as well; if you lose the ball then you win it back pretty early, that helps as well. On top of that, they have different possible organisations obviously.
“Against us especially, they played, or defended at least, very often in a 4-4-2, even when it was a slightly offensively different system, which helps as well in the specific areas to close an opponent down.
“On top of that, they have exceptional individual quality in different positions, which helps as well with defending. On top of that, if you don’t have a shot on goal then the goalie is not that massively influential, but if you get through there’s still a world-class goalie.”

Important player
City are defensively very strong, and one of the reasons for that is Ederson.
The 28-year-old is brilliant with his feet and can spread some superb passes.
The former Benfica star is also very good at making saves and stopping shots.

Liverpool themselves have a world-class goalkeeper.
Like Ederson, Alisson is world class and is also a Brazil international.
Today’s match promises to be hugely exciting, and both Ederson and Alisson could be busy.
After all, both Liverpool and City have world-class attacking players, and there is bound to be a goal or two.
