Jurgen Klopp drops Liverpool team selecton hint for Genk

Liverpool are set to take on Genk in the Champions League this evening, and are expected to pick up the three points.

Jurgen Klopp has told the Liverpool Echo that Liverpool could make changes this evening for their Champions League clash with Genk, but he doesn’t want to make massive alterations to his team.

Liverpool head into this evening’s match as heavy favourites, and Klopp could be forgiven for having one eye on the weekend with his team selection.

Liverpool take on Manchester City on Sunday, in what could be a pivotal match in the Premier League title race.

Klopp stated at his press conference yesterday that he was not focused on that game, but it simply has to be in his mind.

Liverpool should have enough quality to get past Genk, even if they do make changes tonight.

And although Klopp has suggested he won’t name a fully weakened team, the German boss has hinted that changes could be made.

He said: “We will hopefully have a couple of fresh legs in. It’s clear that we want that, but it’s not like we will do so many changes that you cannot recognise our team anymore and think ‘who is that?’.”

Liverpool won 4-1 against Genk in Belgium in their last Champions League match, and it would be a major shock if they didn’t pick up the three points this evening.

If Liverpool are able to win the match then they will take a big step closer to confirming their progression through to the knockout stages of the competition.
