Liverpool managed to pick up a 3-1 victory over Manchester City at Anfield yesterday.

Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp celebrates after the Premier League match between Liverpool FC and Manchester City at Anfield on November 10, 2019 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Jurgen Klopp has told the Liverpool Echo that he thought that Liverpool fans were ‘amazing’ yesterday.

Liverpool picked up a 3-1 win over Manchester City at Anfield at the weekend, as they took a huge step closer to winning the Premier League title.

The Reds are now nine points clear of City, who are sat in fourth place.

Liverpool were in brilliant form yesterday, as they managed to take a 3-0 lead in the contest.

The Reds started at a blistering pace, with Fabinho and Mo Salah scoring early to put them into the lead.

Sadio Mane then struck to seemingly put the game beyond doubt, but Bernardo Silva did score for City to put Klopp’s men under some pressure.

City pressed in the final stages, but even though Liverpool were tired, Klopp felt that the Anfield crowd pushed their side over the line.

He said: “We changed the system at half-time to 4-4-1-1, changed back later in the game to 4-5-1.

“I like the game, I loved the atmosphere, it was incredible, the people were just amazing against an outstandingly strong opponent.”

Liverpool have been so hard to beat for a sustained period of time now that it is very difficult to see them slipping up to allow their challengers a chance to catch them.

Leicester City and Chelsea are both ahead of City as things stand, with Liverpool having a huge advantage over Pep Guardiola’s men now.

The Reds are next in action after the international break, when they take on Crystal Palace.
