Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that Alisson was superb against Leicester City, as quoted on BBC Sport.

The Brazil international goalkeeper made a mistake for the second goal that Leicester scored in their 3-1 win against Liverpool at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League today.

Klopp believes that Alisson played well until the moment when he made the mistake.

BBC Sport quotes the German as saying: “The second goal is a misunderstanding, we said they need to get used to each other and they were fine for 75 minutes, it was a really good game. On the pitch we were the clear dominant side. We had chances and then we concede two goals.

“We were much too open at that moment and that is not OK. Alisson had a super game and then at that moment he came out, I didn’t hear him shouting.”

Stepping up

Alisson made two bad mistakes against Manchester City last weekend, as Liverpool lost 4-1.

The defeat today means that the Reds will now find it very tough to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

Alisson is going through a bad spell now, and while it would be easy to hammer him, it must be considered that he has been superb for the defending Premier League champions over the years.

Liverpool are not having the best of times and there are also injury problems, but the Merseyside club’s fans should stay positive.

The Reds will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
