Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told BBC Sport that Mohamed Salah’s confidence will have been boosted by his goals against Manchester United last night.

Salah scored both goals for Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup tie against Premier League rivals United away from home at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

Unfortunately for the Reds, hosts United scored three goals to win the tie 3-2 and progress to the fifth round of the competition.

Klopp told BBC Sport: “We can take things out of this game, we try to learn from every game. It’s good for Mo Salah, good for the confidence.”

Goal machine

There has been some criticism of Salah in recent times, but the Egypt international forward remains a goal machine.

According to WhoScored, the 28-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 18 Premier League matches and has scored three goals and given one assist in six Champions League games for Liverpool so far this season.

The former Chelsea attacking player scored 19 goals and gave 10 assists in the league last season, while in 2018-19, he scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in the league, according to WhoScored.

Liverpool are going through a tough spell at the moment, and for the Reds to get out of it, Salah’s goals will be massive.
