Jurgen Klopp has raved about Leeds United’s Marcelo Bielsa ahead of their Premier League opener against the Whites, in an interview with BBC Radio Five Live.

Leeds are set to take on Liverpool on Saturday evening, in what will be their first game at Premier League level for 16 years.

The Whites could hardly have been given a tougher start.

However, Klopp insists that his side will have to be on their guard, as he respects Bielsa very much as a manager.

“We have a tough start against Leeds United, who have waited 16 years to get back into the top-flight,” Klopp said.

“They have a world-class manager and it is a historical game so it will be very, very tough.”

Bielsa is revered among many of the elite managers in the country, and Premier League bosses will surely relish coming up against the Leeds boss.

There is an expectation that the Whites may well cause a few upsets in their first season back in the top flight too.

Leeds played so stylishly in the Championship last term, and there is a feeling that their system could cause complications for a number of Premier League outfits.

If Leeds can get anything from their game against Liverpool it would be a wonderful start to life back in the Premier League, and give them even more confidence that they are ready to make an impact back in the big time.
