Jurgen Klopp has raved about reported Tottenham Hotspur managerial target Brendan Rodgers on Liverpool’s official website.

The Liverpool manager has said that Rodgers is “brilliant” and believes that Leicester City are a top side.

Klopp made the comments about the reported Tottenham managerial candidate while discussing his side’s chances of winning the Premier League title next season.

Rodgers has been strongly linked with Spurs, with The Daily Mail reporting this week that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is so keen on appointing the former Liverpool boss that he has not given up on him despite the ex-Celtic boss publicly saying that he is happy at Leicester.

Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “Like Leicester – brilliant manager obviously, top, really, really good squad, dealing with different situations really well. They are not gone or whatever.”

Brendan Rodgers would be great for Tottenham Hotspur

Rodgers is a very good manager who has done well in his career so far. The 48-year-old almost guided Liverpool to the Premier League title, won trophies after trophies at Celtic, and looks set to lead Leicester to a top-four finish.

The football that Rodgers’s teams have played is very good to watch, and his style would sit well with the Tottenham fans.

Rodgers has shown at Celtic and Leicester that he can build a team in his own image and can be successful with the players he has, and there is no surprise that Spurs chairman Levy is reportedly so keen on him.

Leaving Leicester City for Tottenham Hotspur?

Leicester look set to finish in the Premier League top four, while Tottenham still have a lot of work to do to get into the Champions League places.

Rodgers may not be willing to leave a Champions League club to go and manage a team in the Europa League.
