Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has told Sky Sports that he thought Phil Foden’s goal for Manchester City last night was ‘genius’.
Klopp’s Reds entered Sunday’s game with two successive home defeats to their name having lost to Burnley and then Brighton and Hove Albion.
Liverpool were disappointing again though, and whilst Mohamed Salah gave the Reds hope as he made it 1-1 in the second half, City ran riot in the end.
Ilkay Gundogan grabbed a second before Raheem Sterling headed in a third and Phil Foden slammed in a fourth for the visitors.
Liverpool’s title hopes look to be over now they sit 10 points adrift of City, but Klopp did find something to be positive about… in a way.
Foden’s goal really captured the imagination, as he took a superb first touch before driving at Andrew Robertson, shifting the ball onto his left foot and smashing high beyond Alisson.

The youngster showed his quality throughout but especially with that goal, and Klopp admitted that he thought the goal was ‘genius’.
Klopp was clearly blown away by Foden’s ability, and whilst Liverpool and City have formed a real rivalry in recent years, the Reds boss can at least still appreciate great play against his side.
