According to TeamTalk, Leeds United are interested in bringing Ross Barkley to Elland Road in January on loan with an option to buy.

Barkley would be a very interesting signing for Leeds. This is a player will all sorts of talent, but his career has somewhat stalled in recent years as he’s struggled to break into the Chelsea team.

However, we mustn’t forget just how talented Barkley is. He made England’s World Cup squad at the age of just 20 back in 2014, and at Everton, he was ripping up the Premier League.

Barkley has since been written off by many, but one man who seemingly rates him very highly is Jurgen Klopp who described Barkley as a ‘very good’ player last year.

What’s been said?

Jurgen Klopp spoke to The Guardian about Barkley last year.

“Everybody has improved. But Bertrand Traore and Ross Barkley are very good players and they will offer Villa something extra,” Klopp said.

Worth a gamble

Klopp’s comments last year show that Barkley may be worth a gamble.

Yes, it’s been a while since the England international really did anything in the Premier League, but if Klopp rates you, you must have something about you.

Marcelo Bielsa knows how to get the best out of a player, and if Barkley came to Elland Road, there’s every reason to believe that he could rediscover the form that saw him burst onto the scene at Everton as a youngster.
