Danny Ings is expected to miss the rest of the season with another knee injury.
Liverpool striker Danny Ings could miss the rest of the season with a fresh knee injury, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Ings suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee last season and has made just the two first team appearances from the bench this term as he’s looked to build up his fitness for the under-23’s.

However, the Mail reports the 24-year-old that he jolted his right knee in a tackle when he came on as substitute in the 2-1 win over Tottenham last week in the EFL Cup.
The injury didn’t settle down and he has been sent to a specialist after tests revealed he had suffered cartilage damage.
Ings seems a very popular player among the fans for his performances prior to his first knee injury – where he found the net on three occasions for the Reds, and seemed able to establish himself in the first team.
There were several enquiries for the player in the summer – who is said to have won many admirers at the club because of the way he coped with his initial setback – but those were rejected by manager Jürgen Klopp.
Liverpool confirmed the forward will need surgery on their official website, with Klopp conveying his devastation for the forward, and the expected timescale of his recovery.

He said: “To say we are gutted would be an understatement; he is such a great boy and has worked so hard that he deserves better luck than this.
“It is typical of Danny’s personality, on and off the pitch, that he picked up this injury to his knee when courageously trying to win the ball back for his team by making a tackle.
“But it is this same personality that means he will come back as good and as strong from this latest setback as he has done in the past.
“I’m told the likely lay off is anywhere from between seven to nine months. He is mentally strong, physically strong and will have the very best treatment and rehab possible to make sure when he returns he is ready to play for us at the level we know he is capable of.”
Predictably, Liverpool fans on Twitter were gutted for Ings as he faces another lengthy lay off:
