Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has praised playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai following his performance against Leicester City on Wednesday night.
Jurgen Klopp has admitted being surprised with how quickly Dominik Szoboszlai has settled in at Liverpool.
Klopp was speaking to BBC Sport after Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Leicester City on Wednesday evening.
The Reds went behind early on as Kasey McAteer finished off a sweeping counter-attack to put the Foxes 1-0 up.
Liverpool roared back after the break though as Cody Gakpo fired home from Ryan Gravenberch’s pass.
Szoboszlai then hammered Liverpool in front with a stunning long-range strike before Diogo Jota wrapped up the 3-1 win.

Jurgen Klopp hails Dominik Szoboszlai impact
Klopp will be absolutely delighted with the deal to sign Szoboszlai this summer and can surely see him as a key part of the Liverpool midfield for years to come.
The German has never really had a player like Szoboszlai in terms of his creative and goalscoring abilities coupled with his work off the ball.
Liverpool didn’t really go for a top creative midfielder after Philippe Coutinho’s exit but Szoboszlai is now making an enormous impact.
Klopp has now suggested that Szoboszlai has been a ‘surprise’ in terms of his adaptation to life in English football, suggesting that he managed to fit in almost immediately.
Klopp added that Szoboszlai is a ‘top-class’ player who is so relentless that he just never stops, which seems pretty ideal for Liverpool’s style of play.
“Dom was a surprise with how fast he has fit in, it was pretty much from the first minute,” said Klopp. “Top-class player with a lot of quality. He never stops. He learns a lot from the game,” he added.

Szoboszlai continues to shine for Liverpool
Liverpool simply had to refresh their midfield over the summer and four new signings came in.
The biggest outlay was on Szoboszlai as Liverpool activated the £60million release clause in his RB Leipzig contract.
Szoboszlai had built up a strong reputation for RB Leipzig, especially in terms of his ball-striking from long-range or from set-pieces.
The 22-year-old has not only been a creative force for Liverpool with 12 key passes in six Premier League games, but he has also done the dirty side of the game.
Szoboszlai has recorded seven tackles and four interceptions in the Premier League, making a fine start to life at Anfield.
